Cornish driftwood

Whilst on holiday in Cornwall last year I collected loads of lovely pieces of driftwood with plans to do somthing with it.
I spent ages playing with the different pieces trying to decide what to make and eventually after searching the internet for ideas I decided to make a heart. The pieces are lovely and tactile and so smooth and some even have bits of sand or small stones in the cracks.



I used my hot glue gun (for the first time in years) to glue the pieces together and I'm really pleased with the outcome and it is surprisingly very stable.
I've looked around the internet at similar pieces and they're quite expensive to buy- I'm sure they're better made than mine but I'm pleased that mine cost me nothing (apart from the glue) and is also a lovely reminder of a great holiday.
I have iton the wall in my lounge at the moment but i think it will look better in my bathroom.
Now to decide what to do with the left over bits!

    That is just gorgeous! I have a whole heart in driftwood - bought in Cromer. It cost me over £50 and itis beautiful but yours is much nicer!!

    Beautiful job on this, it looks fabulous and you get the joy of remembering the walk along the beach when you look at it rather than just thinking where you bought it and what it cost!
